Replacing old doors and fitting new ones is all part of the service we provide at Reddish Joinery. Designed and made-to-measure in accordance with our customer’s wishes, we install a wide selection to suit a variety of purposes. We recently travelled to the Cheshire town of Knutsford, in order to replace an entrance door that was in need of an update.
When looking for an installer to fit their new door, our customer remembered that we had completed a large job just down the road from them to an excellent standard. After recalling this information, they contacted us and we arranged a time to go out and see them to discuss the work they wanted done.
The original door was well-aged and incapable of keeping the elements completely out of our customer’s home. Therefore, it was essential for the new door to be able to stand up to the weather and draughts. In order to fulfil these requirements, it was decided that an Accoya door with Accoya framing was the ideal solution. This modified timber is immune to insect attack and has exceptional weather resistance but its most impressive feature, arguably, is that it can last more than 50 years without retreatment. However, Accoya also retains all the natural insulation qualities of timber. So, not only will their home be draught and weather free for years to come, it’ll feel extra comfortable all year long too.
Ensuring the product has the right practical qualities is only one consideration of a new entrance door. It also has to seamlessly blend in with its new surroundings. As the old door was very traditional in style, it was, therefore, decided the new one should be too. To further complement the traditional feel, a beautiful Lamp Room Grey – a classic heritage colour – finish was applied to the door and a Winkhaus heritage door locking system was fitted. As a result, the door absolutely oozes with classical style but doesn’t compromise on security either.
Originally, the customer had an outside door leading to a small porch and then another entrance door. However, it was decided that the outside door should be removed, which would leave the porch exposed. Therefore, our Knutsford customers requested that we tidy up the porch so it looked better. As we have no problem going the extra mile for our customers, we built and installed a cover for the gas meter box that was located in the porch. So, now the whole of their home’s entranceway appeared much smarter than before.
The recipients of the new door were very pleased with our work. Here’s what they had to say:
‘I would just like to say how thoroughly impressed (not to mention pleased!!) we are with it and comment on how hard the guys worked on it!’
We also sell a variety of other products, including uPVC windows! Have you been inspired by our work here? Get in touch with Reddish Joinery on 0161 969 7474 or contact us online and see how we can improve your home today.
